How can I be successful in my math classes at KU?
Class attendance and keeping up with your homework is very important. It sounds simple, but a surprising number of students needlessly lower their grades because they choose to sleep in instead of coming to class!
You should also be extra careful not to fall behind in the course or develop gaps in your knowledge of the material being covered. Most of the techniques and concepts presented in class build upon those that are presented earlier. If you do fall behind for some UNAVOIDABLE reason, you should immediately contact the instructor and ask for suggestions as to how to catch up.
How does the University of Kansas determine which math a student should begin taking?
The University goes by the math score a student has on the ACT/SAT exam or a college transfer math course. If a student has taken the ACT or SAT exam more than once, the highest math score determines the placement.
