My name is Diann Burright, and I'm relatively new to KU (and the state of Kansas), but I've been an academic advisor for over 10 years. I also taught high school business courses for 4 years, so education and academics has always been a driving force in my life. As an advisor, I'm here to help you find the right path to reach your educational goals and aspirations. I'm a liaison to the Schools of Architecture and Fine Arts and coordinator of the Freshman Summer Institute. In my time at KU, I've come to find the people and resources in the UAC as second to none--please take advantage of this great opportunity to support your college experience. We're here to help!
I grew up on a farm in northwest Iowa (not far from Lake Okoboji), and have B.A. degree in Business Education from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. I did my M.S. in Higher Education and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa (Go Cyclones!), where I also worked for 9 years. My outside interests include watching football and basketball, playing the flute, listening to music of (almost) all kinds, shopping for shoes, and spending time with family and friends. Fall is my favorite season and I would have 20 different cars/SUVs if I could!
