General Duties: serves as the liaison to Honors Program, Ellsworth Residence Hall and Learning Communities; co-teaches PRE 101 as well as HWC 115 discussion; serves as staff mentor for new staff; works closely with Mount Oread Scholars; holds office hours in Ellsworth Residence Hall, part of the Ellsworth Success Center; serves on the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeals committee; Reform, Retention, Syllabi, Web and University chat committees. Coordinates the residence halls liaison.
Welcome to the University of Kansas. Having graduated from KU twice, I am a proud Jayhawk and have been around for quite a while. Making the transition to college from high school is exciting, but at times we are all faced with challenges we did not even know existed. I enjoy aiding students as they work through these transitions and grow in the many ways the University has to offer.
I graduated with my B.A. in American studies and Political Science and M.A. in American studies. I have worked in the UAC for five years, first as a Graduate Assistant advisor and currently as a Senior Academic Advisor. My path over the past six or seven years has never been one that has followed a straight line. Instead, I have tried to take advantage of the various opportunities and resources provided and continue to challenge myself in new ways. I look forward to my new opportunities and responsibilities within the UAC and hope to help you find ways to grow and challenge yourself. For me, advising is a serious academic pursuit and I enjoy nothing more than helping students discover the various niches at KU they find exciting.
I am a native Kansan, born in Beloit, although I was raised in Missouri.
