Welcome to the University of Kansas! My name is Abby McNaught, and I am an academic advisor in the
University Advising Center. I want your academic years to be some of your favorite, and I am here to
help you accomplish that.
I grew up in Garden City, KS, where I developed my love for Mexican food and wide open spaces. I graduated
from the University of Kansas with my master's degree in Higher Education Administration. During my graduate
program, I served as a scholarship hall director, a graduate intern for the University Career Center and the
Student Involvement and Leadership Center. I spent my undergraduate years in Topeka, KS at Washburn
University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Communication with a minor in Mass Media. While at
Washburn, I was a member of the dance team, a student ambassador, an orientation counselor, and a member
of the recreation center staff. When I leave work, you can find me spending time with loved ones,
perfecting my pizza sauce, watching KU athletics, playing softball with the Dynamite Chickens, exploring
Mass Street, or watching my favorite TV sitcoms.
My role in the UAC is to help you discover your educational and professional potential in a variety of ways.
I look forward to chatting with you about KU's many majors, course options, ways to get involved at KU, and
all the wonderful resources available to you. Scheduling appointments is easy, simply call 864-0176. I look
forward to meeting you. Rock chalk!
