Welcome to all new students and your families. The advising staff is looking forward to meeting you during KU’s
orientation program. During orientation, one of the most important things you will do is meet with an academic advisor for the first time.
We have created this tutorial to aid you in thinking about and preparing for your advising session. The completion of the tutorial is the first step you will take toward gaining knowledge and confidence in your degree program, the requirements for graduation, and a plan for timely completion of your degree from KU.
At orientation you will receive:
- The Undergraduate Catalog
- A copy of your Academic Requirements Tracking System (ARTS) form
- The Orientation Guide
- A copy of the Student Handbook
You will also:
- Attend an Academic Information Meeting (AIM) where representatives from your academic division will review requirements
- Attend student-to-student sessions with your Orientation Assistant (OA) and a Peer Advisor (PA) who will give more specific instructions for preparing for advising and enrollment
- Meet with your academic advisor
- Complete online enrollment
The online tutorial provides the information you need to properly enroll in your first semster classes.
