A Step Ahead in College Life
As a newly admitted student you are invited to consider the Freshman Summer Institute, a learning community program that facilitates your academic and personal transition to the University of Kansas.
The Freshman Summer Institute is designed to benefit all undergraduate students new to the University of Kansas through:
- earning 5 hours of KU credit
- experiencing major and career exploration opportunities
- understanding the university and how it works
- meeting other KU students and developing a supportive network
- developing key interactions with faculty and staff
- acclimating to Lawrence and KU during the quiet time of summer
FSI is for students who are serious about their education and will make a four-week commitment to themselves and to their future. Students see how the elements of the university community work together to stimulate academic and personal growth. The Freshman Summer Institute enriches the entire academic experience via connected learning experiences.
