Frances Lyons

Hello and welcome to the University Advising Center!

My name is Frances Lyons and I am an academic advisor at the UAC. I am so happy that you are at KU! This is an exciting time in your life as you learn more about yourself and the world around you. My role in the UAC is to help you make educated decisions while supporting your unique needs and interests. We can discuss your class schedule, majors, co-curricular activities, or any other topic that can help you make the most of your academic career at KU.

I grew up in St. John, a small town in central Kansas, and attended Kansas State University where I earned a B.S. in Business with a minor in Speech Communications. After working for a few years at a non-profit organization, I returned to school and earned a master's degree in Higher Education Administration at KU. As a graduate intern I held positions on campus as an academic advisor and an internship advisor and have taught a section of PRE 101. I truly enjoy helping students realize their full potential both inside and outside the classroom. When I am not at work you will find me jogging, learning to garden, shopping on Mass Street, exploring new places, and spending time with family and friends.
